Do you want to make a difference to our local communities as we recover from the pandemic?
West Oxfordshire District Council has prepared an ambitious Local Recovery Plan to support our local economy and local communities, and take action on climate and nature. We are determined to ‘build back better’ as the district recovers from the impacts of the pandemic.
About the role…
We are searching for a dynamic Bid Writer to assist in West Oxfordshire District Councils Covid recovery plan.
The Bid Writer is a new role to help identify and prepare bids for external funding to enable the council to deliver additional services and initiatives over and above those funded by its budget. You will identify and initiate bids for funding or provide first review and challenge of proposals raised internally by officers across Publica, guiding the development of viable options through to submission. These funding bids could relate to any area of the Council’s priorities. Part of your role will be to work with other officers across the Council to ensure a joined up approach and to work with external partners including the Local Enterprise Partnership as appropriate
Who are we…
Four partner Councils (West Oxfordshire District Council, Cheltenham Borough Council, Forest of Dean District Council and Cotswold District Council) have created Publica Group Ltd to deliver more efficient and improved services. The Councils will continue to be responsible for the standard of services that are provided as well as setting strategy, policy and making decisions.
Publica is a unique place to work – we’re a local government organisation with a twist! Publica wants to transform the way local services are delivered. To help do this we have started to fundamentally rethink the way we design our services in the digital era so that Publica is a customer focused organisation driven by real user needs.
This is a new role which will cover West Oxfordshire. Within the District, there are plenty of places to see and visit whether you love hiking or cycling. With our agile working ethos: you will be spoilt for choice.
You will need…
- Extensive experience in investment appraisal and debt funding
- Confident communication, with both internal stakeholders and external partners
- Experience of reporting to board level with strong presentation and report writing skills
- A qualification in your area of expertise, equivalent to a degree or experience of five years
- Use of a car for work purposes
